By Irene Xiong, FILE Administration Intern

I’m thrilled to be an administration intern for Operation HOPE’s Fellows, Interns, and Loaned Executives (FILE) Program. My internship started on Jun 13, 2016 and will end on August 5, 2016. I work in Operation HOPE’s Regional Headquarters in Los Angeles. I am here to gain a larger understanding of programs and how non-profits operate. As for myself, I’m from China, residing there up until I came to Los Angeles for graduate study.

I have one more semester to complete as a Masters candidate for International Public Policy and Management at University of Southern California (USC). My dream is to dedicate myself to non-governmental organizations. That is why I happily accept this opportunity to build my skill-set, and become a better candidate for non-governmental organizations in my country.

Personally, I am an extremely outgoing individual and curious about the unknown. Cooking, taking road trips and exercising outdoors are my leisure activities. My greatest passion is helping people find their happiness. This, in turn, makes me happy.

Internship America inspires young people to achieve more, by facilitating rich mentorship connections and an enriching hands-on work experience to spark a student’s aspirational spirit. Apply to become a HOPE Intern.
