Operation HOPE’s Chairman, Founder & CEO John Hope Bryant will discuss innovative methods for improving the financial knowledge of California’s students on April 2nd at at the California Financial Literacy Conference for Educators at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

The conference will commence the start of National Financial Literacy Month and is being co-hosted by the California Society of CPAs, CalCPA Institute and the California Jump$tart Coalition.

California educators attending the event will have a unique opportunity to learn financial literacy best practices from fellow educators, collect curriculum guides, workbooks and other tools, and connect with non-profits, community groups and others who can help provide volunteer-driven financial education in the classroom.

Bryant, a member of the U.S. President’s Advisory Council on Financial Capability for President Barack Obama, is the bestselling author of LOVE LEADERSHIP: The New Way to Lead in a Fear-Based World. He is expected to speak at the conference about Operation HOPE’s award winning Banking on Our Future (BOOF) financial literacy curriculum. The innovative program aimed at elevating the dignity, hope, and economic self-sufficiency of youth and adults in low-wealth communities through financial literacy. Founded in 1996, BOOF has reached over 511,000 students in more than 700 schools and community-based organizations in the US, South Africa, and Haiti.
