Stories of HOPE: Life After the Internship

Tara Dennis

HOPE Atlanta Intern Channel Turner shares some kind words with her HOPE Mentor, Banking on Our Future Program Manager Tara Dennis, about her experience working at HOPE and what she is up to now:

“I am now a Strategic Planning Intern at The Foundation Center Atlanta. I have been working there since May, and it has been a great and rewarding experience. I primarily handle social media and program duties at the Foundation Center such as Facebook metrics, program evaluation, and, blogging. As a result, I have had the opportunity to attend various nonprofit related events around Atlanta to report about on the Foundation Center Atlanta website.

I have also had the privilege of being elected as Co-President of the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance for the 2012-2013 semesters at Georgia State University. I will help to cultivate partnerships between NLA and metro Atlanta nonprofits, schedule speakers for NLA meetings that address needed nonprofit skills, and coordinate NLA professional events.

My time at Operation HOPE has helped me to be a better and more confident leader. I had the chance to work with an amazing team of professionals who care about the welfare of the community. I am looking forward to working and partnering with Operation HOPE again in the future.”
