Many university students can agree that wise choices freshman year lead to a better experiences as an upperclassman. From study habits to financial choices, freshmen are laying the foundation for an academic experience that will shape the rest of their lives.
Thanks to a partnership with CUNY’s SEEK & CD program, Operation HOPE is bringing some guidance to incoming freshman to help each student make better choices from the get-go. On July 24th, Operation HOPE’s HOPE Corps volunteers had the opportunity to teach phase one of the Banking on Our Future College Edition Curriculum to the first group of freshman in a long partnership to come.
With better financial education comes better financial choices – the faculty at Brooklyn College felt so enthusiastic about Operation HOPE’s involvement that our staff has been asked to provide financial literacy training to the entire student body this upcoming 2012-13 school year. A special thanks goes out to Dr. Levy, whose continued support and valued partnership will help Operation HOPE continue to give SEEK & CD freshman a better grasp on smart money management throughout the year.
