If you’re expecting interns at Operation HOPE to spend the majority of their time fetching coffee and sorting files, you are sadly mistaken. Operation HOPE invests significant time and attention in its interns, hoping to grow future leaders that will help spread the financial empowerment movement long after our time at HOPE.
HOPE Atlanta’s summer interns and volunteers have already started gearing up in preparation for the Global Financial Dignity Summit taking place in November, which is sure to spread the all-important message that financial literacy is at the core of solving our global economic woes. From assisting with donor relations to managing event planning logistics, the first two weeks have been a pleasant whirlwind of new professional experiences. We have risen to the challenge wholeheartedly.
Occasionally, we leave our busy times with the work telephones and computers for some office bonding time. Our building hosted a welcome luau complete with hula dancers, snow cones, and key lime pies, marking a fantastic (and tropical) start to the summer.
