HOPE Atlanta Starts Summer With a Spark

HOPE Atlanta kicked off the start of summer with some great programming and partnerships in financial empowerment.

June began with the Fulton County Central Library partnership and the monthly Credit and Money Management (CMM) workshop, which is offered every first Tuesday of the month.  This class engaged participants in techniques for car-buying for the month of June, but eager participants wanting to learn more tips in money management will have to wait until August due to the 4th of July holiday.

It was a big month for the CMM program. HOPE Counselor Patrice Washington facilitated the CMM workshop to participants of the June 9th Home Ownership Education Class and the June 11th Entrepreneur Training Program (ETP), as well as to a group of over ninety single mothers whose sons participated in the annual Steve Harvey mentoring weekend.

Patrice closed the month by providing one-on-one credit counseling to fourteen  new credit counseling clients and graduated her first credit counseling client.

It was a month full of exciting highlights. On June 4th, twenty people began their journey toward entrepreneurship as the second cohort of the ETP program started.  A slate of experienced guest speakers has been lined up to bring best practices and helpful business tips to the class.

Our Home Ownership portfolio welcomed Ms. Adrienne Butler as the Community Lending Consultant, and she jumped right into the program to make it her own.

Construction at HOPE Center Atlanta at Ebenezer Church is moving swiftly- it is now at 90% completion. With a brick façade present, ceilings installed, and paint and carpet on deck, the HOPE Staff eagerly awaits the final 10%.

In addition to the significant progress  in program development and client advancement,  Operation HOPE is excited to announce new partnerships with Atlanta Reads, David Walker Attorney at Law, and Villages of East Lake, which are sure to bring the “silver rights” movement to greater heights.

Next month, HOPE Atlanta looks forward to the following highlights:
