Oakland HOPE Center Celebrates Financial Literacy Month by Conducting over 16 Workshops!

The Oakland HOPE Center celebrated Financial Literacy Month by conducting 16 workshops and educated 234 clients.

We held our first quarter 2012 Customer Recognition Night and had three guests share amazing testimonials, (one a new homeowner with the help of Operation HOPE) and a special guest Ms. Chaznee Brown, from The American Red Cross to discuss the Sickle Cell Donor Program.

Because is she affected by the Sickle Cell Disease her presentation was very heart touching.  The HOPE Center Team assisted the HOPE Bay Area BOOF Program Manager at the CalCPA for the 2012 California Financial Literacy Conference for Educators. HOPE had a information table and shared details about Operation HOPE’s services. In addition, the team sold Love Leadership books to conference attendees.

The  Oakland HOPE Center also gave a hand to Bank of the West ITAC Beware! Identity Theft event. In May, the HOE Center will conduct the second quarter 6-Step Classes, and participate in the Annual Walk to End Poverty Event. Thanks to all our partners, volunteers and program participants for making Financial Literacy Month a wonderful, event filled month!
