In February, the Atlanta HOPE Center attended a truly unique seminar focusing on entrepreneurship and small business.
Titled “Stepping up to Business,” the one-day seminar was organized by Operation HOPE Partner, Invest Atlanta, and the Small Business Finance Institute. The event provided a wealth of knowledge on small business matters including the steps that can be taken to secure and gain access to capital. More specifically the seminar explained how to fund a small business specifically in the city of Atlanta.
Many insightful workshops were offered throughout the day including: Managing Business Cash Flow, Writing a Successful Business Plan, SBA Loans programs, Micro Loans – Not just for Micro Businesses and Bartering as a Financing Strategy.
In addition to the workshops, the Atlanta HOPE Center team was introduced to a host of angel investors, bankers, finance companies and successful entrepreneurs with a desire to lend money to local entrepreneurs. With such an amazing opportunity to network, the Atlanta HOPE Center team has already begun to form new partnerships.
Two local attorneys have requested to join with our quest to restore financial dignity in Atlanta and have already signed on to speak to our entrepreneurs in our upcoming workshops and classes.
More connections were made as several local business owners have extended their hands to help as well. Sheronde Glover CEO of the Business Practitioner and Lisa Robinson with Access to Capital for Entrepreneurs, have volunteered their time to speak with our entrepreneurs as well. Overall, this was a successful event for our Atlanta HOPE Center team as new relationships were forged and our knowledge base was increased.
The Atlanta HOPE Center team is continuing to spread our story and partnering with people who are making a difference in our city and nation.
